Shipping Rate Updates

Global Gladiators, time for a mini-update!

Shipping Rate Updates

We know some of you were concerned the shipping rates might have been off in certain regions of the world, but they were indeed the quotes we were able to get as a smaller indie publisher.

However, we saw that many of you weren't satisfied with them so we went back to our fulfillment company and fought tooth and nail to negotiate a discounted rate for some regions.

Therefore, we're happy to announce that most regions outside of Canada, USA, Asia, and Australia will now see a reduced shipping rate when checking out at the pledge manager.

How Do I Benefit from the New Shipping Rates If I Already Locked My Pledge?

Users who have already completed their pledge manager by inserting payment details and finalizing the procedure are said to have "locked" their pledges. However, you can always go "unlock" your pledge at any time to edit your shipping address or order additional content.

It is important to note that currently, no credit cards have been charged yet, as we were negotiating the better rates behind the scenes; therefore, users can still use the same pledge manager link they originally received to go and unlock their pledges (you will see this as an option) and resubmit them in order to "lock it in" again with the new shipping rates in effect.

In order to allow everyone a chance to go unlock and resubmit their pledges to take advantage of the new shipping rates, we will give anyone who previously locked an order until this Friday, February 22 at 11:59PM PST to go unlock and re-lock it.

After that time, credit cards of locked orders will begin to be charged.

When Will the Pledge Manager Charge My Credit Card?

After February 22 at 11:59PM PST, the pledge manager will begin charging the credit cards of any locked orders within 2 business days of the moment they are locked.

Please note: we are not talking about closing the pledge manager when we say we are "charging credit cards". Even after your card is charged, you can always go back to the pledge manager while it is open and add additional content to your order and pay for the difference.

The pledge manager will remain open until at least March 12.

We want to thank everyone for their patience while we were working on offering updated shipping rates, and for their continued support!

As always ...

SUPER SECRET MINI RENDER REVEAL!

Micky was waiting until he got an update all to himself to show off his sweet mini:

Pledge Manager Now Live!
about 5 years ago – Wed, Feb 13, 2019 at 01:34:44 AM

Global Gladiators, the time is now! The pledge manager has arrived!

Pledge Manager Now Open

After lots of fancy cyber fu, Renae has managed to kick Miss Matrix out of the system and the gates are now open for all of you to go ahead and complete your pledges!

BackerKit invites have been sent to all email addresses you have listed in your Kickstarter account; if you don't see one in your inbox, check your spam/junk folders as we've had reports of some ending up there.

Oh and invites are sent via a rolling system, so if you don't receive an invite in the next 24 hours, please contact us and we'll make sure to sort things out for you.

Late Pledges

Have friends who wanted to participate in the Kickstarter but were too late? Let them know they can late pledge by following this link:

Add-Ons Recaps

For those of you who want more detail with regards to what the add-ons are, don't forget the updates we featured during the campaign that were chock-full of great details:

Sneak Peek at the Street Masters Compendium

Many of you have asked for new details on the compendium, and we're all too pleased to offer an updated look at the coolest book you'll have in your collection.

This baby is going to rock out at approximately 160 pages (!!), and will be the pièce de résistance of both your game collection and book shelf! As always, while the following previews are very close to the final product, keep in mind we are still editing text, imagery and layout to make it the best it can be, so things are therefore subject to change.

The gorgeous hardcover is going to sport a minimalist, matte black cover that is reminiscent of your favorite video game collectors' guides, using spot UV on both the beautiful front cover art and the jet black Street Masters logo on the rear cover, allowing both to pop and stand out!

Inside the opening pages, you'll have an introduction to the world of street brawling action that is Street Masters, as well as forewords from the designers themselves, Adam and Brady Sadler! A perfect spot for autographs if you ever meet them at conventions!

Example Fighter spread
Example Fighter spread

You wanted to know more abut the world of Street Masters? Well, this is your chance to dive deeper into its lore than ever before.

Every fighter will have a two-page spread, splashed with their assigned deck color and containing not only gorgeous art pieces in their full uncut glory (you've only seen this art on game cards, and those illustrations are cropped), but their backgrounds and origin stories as well! Learn exciting details that have not been revealed before, helping you to more fully appreciate their in-game stories! You'll also discover their nationalities, as well as which skills and techniques they bring to the fight!

Of course, handy gameplay references like which expansion they can be found in, their complexity rating, and tips straight from the Sadlers on what to expect when embodying these fighters are also included.

Oh, did we mention that their full character art will be on display, from head to toe (many for the first time!), to help all our painters out there?

Example Enemy spread
Example Enemy spread

Now, we can't let the good guys hog the spotlight, can we? Sometimes, you need to let the bad boys (and girls) come out to play!

Each enemy faction will also get a two-page spread, full of amazing lore detailing the origins of its boss, their minions, and how the faction came to be. These backstories will reveal some interesting connections, and definitely help flesh out the various details found in their respective Showdown and Fighter decks! Just like we did for the fighters, these spreads will also showcase the nationalities and skills of each faction member, and come with full character art pieces (again, many shown in their entirety for the first time) to help you wield a paintbrush with confidence!

Don't forget the must-have gameplay elements like complexity ratings and expansion icons, as well as even more in-depth tips straight from the designers to help you counter every single character in the faction!

Example Stage page

Stages will also get lots of love! Not only will we provide context surrounding the theme of each and every battleground from the game, but we will showcase large swaths of the incredible art behind them! Perfect for helping newcomers select a stage that "speaks to them" for an upcoming game session, or to get a great appreciation for how diverse the settings are.

The deluge of Street Masters goodness doesn't stop there, though. There will also be spreads for Allies and Rivals, as well as a 15-page art gallery to showcase tons of additional art that isn't showcased already elsewhere in the book! We'll take a peek at those in a future update.

Oh and of course, every page of existing Street Masters rules will be included in the hardcover as well, so you can look extra sophisticated when looking something up mid-game!

The Street Masters Compendium is Kickstarter exclusive, meaning this collector's item will only be printed in limited quantities, so don't miss out!

That's it for now, folks! We'll be back with our regularly scheduled updates soon. Until then ...

Keep fighting!

Miss Matrix Is at It Again, but the Murdocks Are Here to Help ... Permanently!
about 5 years ago – Mon, Feb 11, 2019 at 12:47:04 AM

Happy Sunday, Global Gladiators!

We're here with an extra early February update to, well, update you on the status of the pledge manager, and share some incredibly exciting news!

Pledge Manager Status

As per our last update, we'd completed our pledge manager entry and had simply been waiting for the pledge manager company to launch it. Well, we've just been told the reason for the launch delay is that there is a small glitch in the system that needs to be resolved.

Looks like Miss Matrix is trying to cause problems! She's probably afraid you're going to kick her behind once you get your games! Well, lucky for us, we've got Renae Benson on the case, and she assures us she'll get things up and running lickety-split.

Now, onto some news we are absolutely thrilled about! This press release is going out shortly, but we thought our most-excellent backers should know first:

Sadler Bros. Join Blacklist Games

Adam and Brady Sadler
Adam and Brady Sadler

Blacklist Games is proud to announce the recent hiring of Adam and Brady Sadler as Senior Game Designers. Formerly with Fantasy Flight Games, the Sadler brothers have worked as freelance game designers and consultants for over six years, designing such games as Warhammer Quest: The Adventure Card Game, The Walking Dead: No Sanctuary, Street Masters, Brook City, and Heroes of Terrinoth. While the brothers will continue designing games with other publishers, Blacklist Games will be the official home for the majority of their original designs.

“We’re beyond thrilled to join the Blacklist team,” said the brothers. “We have had such a great experience building Street Masters and Brook City from the ground up, carrying it through development, and staying involved through final production. We look forward to continuing this trend, creating our dream games on a daily basis.”

Following on the success of their latest Kickstarter, Street Masters: Aftershock, Blacklist Games has announced their next Sadler brothers design: Altar Quest, a fantasy adventure game utilizing the Modular Deck System introduced in Street Masters and Brook City. The game will be inspired by classic dungeon crawl board games and will be their first design as full-time Blacklist Games employees. Look for Altar Quest on Kickstarter in early 2019, as well as other exciting titles to be announced soon...

Millennium Blades x Street Masters

Our friends over at Level 99 Studios are currently running their Kickstarter for Millennium Blades Collusion, and we're happy to announce that some of your favorite Street Masters characters are crossing over!

Millennium Blades is a board game for 2-6 players about a group of friends who play a collectible trading card game also called Millennium Blades. As you play this collectible card game simulator, you'll get to buy boosters, sell singles on the after-market, trade cards with your friends, build up your deck, and discover game-breaking strategies. All in one box, all in 2-3 hours!

Collusion is the next big expansion for Millennium Blades, adding 400+ cards, raising the max player count to 6, offering Team play (with team powers), NPCs for alternative scoring conditions, and an epic storage solution to store all things Millennium Blades.

Street Masters is all about brawling, so Level 99 Games thought to bring some of your favorite Global Gladiators over to pick a fight with the in-game Aftermarket. Winning a clash against a chosen card in the market can provide a powerful effect, which is different for each of the cards in the set. While these effects are powerful enough to stand on their own, they can slot exceptionally well into a clash-focused deck.

Davenport's Gonna Getcha!
over 5 years ago – Wed, Jan 30, 2019 at 11:01:21 PM

Global Gladiators, welcome to your January update!

Sorry about the delay; we'd been waiting for the pledge manager to be ready in order to write an update announcing its launch, but unfortunately we are still awaiting approval by the pledge manager company. So, instead of waiting for it to be ready to post an update, here we are to show off some new previews and whet your appetite for when it does launch!

That said, we know the pledge manager is taking a bit longer than anticipated to launch, but we promise it is coming soon. When it does go live, you'll receive an email saying as much, and we'll make a mini update to let everyone know as well.

Now, onto the fun stuff!

Development Update

Progress on Aftershock development continues at a steady pace, with the Sadlers having worked day and night since the Kickstarter ended to polish off the incredible amount of cards unlocked during the campaign.  Just as a reminder of how many decks the team's had to create, revise, test and hone:

  • 25 Fighter decks
  • 14 Stage decks
  • 8 Enemy decks
  • 46 (!!) Story & Showdown decks
  • Mission decks and more

That's a lot of cards! At this point in time, everything is done in terms of design, playtesting is nearly complete, and we're now taking care of proofing.

Tooling for some miniature molds has already begun over at our factory, so hopefully we’ll be seeing some gorgeous mini samples in the near future!

Davenport Manor Miniature Renders

Now, how about we take a peek at some mini renders? Say hello to the fiendish inhabitants of Davenport Manor!

Fighter Deck Art Previews

Let's take a sneaky peek at a few pieces of artwork from various Fighter decks, shall we?

We asked around in the comments for which decks you wanted to get a preview of, and here are the ones you wanted to see the most:

For next month's update, we'll show off some Enemy deck art! Which do you want to see? Tell us in the comments below (max 2 factions each, please); we'll tally the votes and preview the most requested ones!

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Cifarellis
over 5 years ago – Tue, Jan 22, 2019 at 11:47:24 AM

Global Gladiators, at the end of the Kickstarter campaign we took a little bit of time off to recharge our batteries, but we've been hard at work since then and thought you'd like to hear how things are going.

Development

Things are moving along smoothly in terms of development, with the brothers Sadler hard at work designing the incredible amount of cards you helped unlock during the campaign. All fighters have been designed and are currently going through rigorous playtesting to ensure they are all balanced and fun to play!

I can’t recall if we’d mentioned this, but with all the unlocks, the current fighter roster in the Street Masters lineup is a staggering 42! That’s pretty nuts when you think of it!

All stages and enemy decks have also been designed, so those are being playtested as well. Now the focus is on finishing up all the story and showdown decks, as well as Rival/Ally cards and various other components. All in all, the design side of things is going very smoothly!

New Mini Renders

We've received some new sculpt renders: the minis from the Kickstarter Exclusive Fallen Angel story! Feast your eyes!

Pledge Manager

We are currently aiming at early January to launch the pledge manager. We’re still working on the finishing touches, but shouldn’t be too much longer now.

Many have asked if the pledge manager will accept late pledges, and the answer is yes! So, go and let your friends know they have a second chance to get this big treasure trove of street brawling goodness for themselves!

Happy Holidays

Finally, we'd like to wish you all a happy holiday season! We hope you get to enjoy lots of great gaming time with friends and family!

Please note that we will also be spending time with our loved ones for the holidays, so response times will be slower until after January 2nd.

Thanks again for all your support, and see you in 2019!
